Steve spent 20 years as a management consultant with Accenture, leaving 10 years ago to volunteer with non-profit organizations to help maximize their social impact. His current endeavor was inspired when his interest in photography as an artistic medium helped him cope with the challenges he and his family faced while dealing with mental illness. In 2013, Steve founded the EDI Institute as a non-profit, dedicated to pioneering a new form of therapeutic expression called Expressive Digital Imagery® (EDI). Clinical testing has demonstrated that EDI promotes recovery and emotional resilience through the images people create on mobile devices. EDI has already been adopted by some of the nation’s leading institutions, enabling people facing life’s challenges to express complex feelings and emotions that words alone cannot. In settings as diverse as psychiatric hospitals, homeless shelters, schools, and cancer centers, many are calling EDI an entirely new language.
