Samantha Janower was only three years old when she was diagnosed with a brain tumor. She underwent two different treatments of chemotherapy, one brain surgery, and spent a lot of her young childhood in the hospital. She spent much of her childhood nauseous and weak as a result of the treatments, some of which have had undesired long term side effects. Because of her petite stature and weak fitness, Samantha had always doubted her abilities and felt unable to fit in. As she entered High School, Samantha became more confident and found her place on her school’s Varsity Crew Team and worked hard to ride in the Pan Mass Challenge. Now, at 16 years old, Samantha works passionately to help others with Brain Tumors or in similar situations. Samantha feels fortunate to be here today and firmly believes that with work and determination, anyone can accomplish their goals.
