Rob Watson Jr. is a social innovation and civic engagement strategist with experience working on themes of educational equity, civic engagement and community development in the United States, Latin America and Africa.
He has worked as a consultant for institutions that include the Inter-American Development Bank, the World Bank, Harvard College, the Obama Foundation and the National Government of Paraguay. Rob is a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer, co-founder of Paraguay’s first national youth service program and five nonprofits, including Teach for Paraguay, a member of the Teach For All Network. Currently, Rob is serving as a civic engagement strategist at the Harvard Kennedy School Institute of Politics and an impact strategist at the Social Impact Studio. Additionally, he is co-founding a civic engagement and social justice charter school in his hometown of Poughkeepsie, New York.
Rob is a World Economic Forum Global Shaper, former Harvard Pforzheimer Public Service Fellow, Gates Millennium Scholar and an alumnus of the New Politics Leadership Academy. He holds a BA from Harvard College and a Master’s in Education Policy and Management from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
