With a Ph.D. in controls, Kenn Sebesta designs drones for science, industrial, and consumer uses. Drones are in his DNA: his parents met in flight school. Dr. Sebesta has life-long experience with remote controlled craft, small unmanned air vehicles, and micro-UAV platforms, and is a co-founder of one of the world’s largest open-source autopilot initiatives. He has led UAV controls development teams for the past five years and is currently the inventor and Technical Lead on the CyPhy Works LVL 1. This has led to the opportunity to develop novel and patented controls schemes for UAV flight. His research includes optimal observation, animal-inspired flight, and visual servoing. In his spare time he flies planes and sails boats.
