Bing Gordon

Video Game Executive & Technology Venture Capitalist

Bing Gordon’s known for his gaming knowledge as former chief creative officer at Electronic Arts and as an investor and director at Zynga (IPO 2011). In December of 2013, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers announced that Gordon would serve as the firm’s chief product officer and run a new more intensive program for entrepreneurs called ProductWorks, alongside designer and former Rhode Island School of Design president John Maeda.

Gordon’s not new to design himself as an investor in Jawbone, but it’s likely his gaming expertise that helped first-round investment Ngmoco sell to DeNa for $400 million in 2010, and it’s the same expertise that makes him attractive to new investments like Duolingo, a language learning app, where game mechanics can make it more fun–and addictive–to learn a new tongue.

When he’s not gaming or also working on Kleiner Perkins’s Fund for social startups, Gordon stays on the move: he’s traveled frequently to Africa in the past to learn tribal dance.
