Dr. Amon Millner is an Assistant Professor of Computing and Innovation at Olin College of Engineering, directing the Extending Access to STEM Empowerment (EASE) Lab. Millner, a co-inventor of the Scratch programming language, creates engaging environments and tools (Sparkfun’s PicoBoard, Modkit) that support learners of all ages increasing their capacity to innovate, make, and make a difference in their neighborhoods. He has established local and international hubs for learning and digital fabrication, shaping the ways in which Computer Clubhouses and Fab Labs have evolved.
Millner, a patent holder Fulbright Specialist, and champion in the Maker Movement, earned a Ph.D. in Media Arts and Sciences from MIT; a M.S. in Human-Computer Interaction from Georgia Tech; and a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Southern California.
