50 participate in the MIT Media Lab Pre-Adventure
Tonight’s Adventurers, led by Ramesh Raskar, go behind-the-scenes at the Media Lab and discover the future of photography
Fifty enthusiastic TEDxBeaconStreet Adventurers got a rare tour of the MIT Media Lab, the I.M. Pei-designed Wiesner building, as well as the new Maki and Associates-designed complex, a showplace for new concepts in design, communications systems, and collaborative research.
Ramesh Raskar heads up the Camera Culture research group at thelab and his research spans the fields of computational photography, inverse problems in imaging, and human-computer interaction. Adventurers heard about some of the future uses of photography such as transient imaging to look around a corner, a next-generation CAT-scan machine, imperceptible markers for motion capture (Prakash), long-distance barcodes (Bokode), and more.
